Icons of the Plague

So, I wasn't really sure what the "black amber" part actually meant in the name of this creature. I decided to interpret it as "so old that the bones have blackened". Best I could manage was to invert the colors in the original image, and I'm rather pleased with the result. One of my players commented that it looks a bit cyberpunk and, well, fair. It's from the 13th Age SRD (link in the sidebar), so here are its stats as well:

I wish I remembered what set that sort of lizardy helmet came from, but it works well enough for a kobold. Could also work for some other short-legged race wearing a weird helmet.
